Frequently Asked

Questions

F.A.Q.

General

Is your cheese pasteurized?
All of our cheeses are made with pasteurized milk.

Is your cheese made with animal-sourced rennet?
All of our cheeses are made with non-animal-sourced rennet.

Is your bread vegan?
Our Regular bread is vegan. Our Multigrain bread has honey in it, so it is not vegan.

I always say “no oil,” but sometimes I get it — what gives?
Our Hot Peppers come packed in highly-refined soybean oil, which holds their flavor. But if you would like less of it, just ask us to drain the peppers for you.

Crave-Worthy Sandwiches

Can I get a vegetarian Pizza Sandwich?
Of course! Just let us know when you order.

I'm a Vegan. Can I still order the Mediterranean?
No problem! All you have to do is ask for a Mediterranean on regular bread (our multigrain bread has honey in it so it is not vegan friendly) with no feta cheese, and the sandwich is vegan!

Can I get artichoke hearts, cucumbers or roasted red peppers added to any sandwich?
Yes! There will be an extra charge for each of the premium ingredients if they aren’t in the original sandwich recipe, but we'd be happy to provide you with a made-to-order sandwich!

Abundant Salads

What if I don't want one of the salad toppings, can I leave it off?
Of course! All of our salads are made to order. Just tell our team what topping you don't want and we'll be happy to oblige.

Can I swap Feta Cheese or Goat Cheese for Blue Cheese in my salad?
You sure can! You can ask for our salad made with any of our cheeses.

Can I get croutons on my salad?
Yes you can and we are happy to give them to you at no extra charge — just ask!

Miscellaneous

Why are you called “Potbelly?”
Potbelly Sandwich Shop began in 1977 as a small antique store in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, where the owner also refurbished antique potbelly stoves. During the late 1970s, the owners decided to try and boost business by making sandwiches for their customers. The sandwiches were a hit, and the small antique shop was transformed into an old-fashioned, neighborhood-friendly sandwich joint named after the stove. And the rest is history! Learn more about Our Story.

What is the Potbelly Promise?
We choose high quality meats, cheeses and veggies, then slice, cut and chop them ourselves. Our sandwich makers build amazing toasty sandwiches to order and get you through the line really fast. While every Potbelly Sandwich Shop is unique, they all have friendly folks behind the counter that will make you feel at home. Our Promise. Fresh. Fast. Friendly.

How can I submit a donation or sponsorship request?
All donation requests should be submitted online through our Fundraising/Donations page. Due to large volume of requests, we ask that you submit requests at least 45 days prior to your event. You may submit your request here: Fundraising/Donations.

Do you franchise your stores?
Not at this time. All Canadian stores are owned and operated by Halsted Hospitality Ltd., a franchisee of Potbelly Franchising, LLC.

How can I suggest/request a location for a new shop?
If you own a site that you wish to submit detailed information about, please email our Real Estate Team at info@potbelly.ca, and be sure to include any site information, details, pictures, etc. of your location(s).

How do I contact someone directly at the Support Center?
Call our Support Center office at 1-844-377-7888 for a directory or to speak with our receptionist, who will gladly help you get in touch with the person you're trying to reach!

Do you do coupons, discounts, or frequent customer programs?
We believe in offering high quality products at a fair price to our customers. Discounting most often results in higher prices for customers, which we want to avoid.

How do I apply to be a Musician?
You can apply to play in our shops right here: Music. You can also speak to the General Manager at your neighbourhood shop.

Can I get your cookie recipe?
The recipe for our cookies is like a treasured family recipe ... a well guarded secret! Why don’t you come on in for a fresh cookie today?
